Chronicles / Project Chronicles

trevorpaugh.com is live

Milestone

Planning finished in the morning and the site launched before the day was out. The domain and its www twin now point at the new home page, with the Chronicles at /chronicles and the feed under it. Four slices shipped in a day: the import with history, the wrapper and home page, the restyle, and launch preparation. The bio on the profile page is a draft; the owner's contact links stay hidden until confirmed.

Four days ago the Chronicles went live on this domain as the whole site. Today the domain changed hands to the home page, and the Chronicles took their place one level down.

The day

Planning closed in the morning with the mockup choices recorded in the two entries before this one. Then four slices in sequence: the old repository imported with its full history; the wrapper, home page, profile page, themes, and type; the Chronicles pages restyled inside the wrapper; and launch preparation, which added a sitemap, a robots file, an analytics hook, a no-index rule for the preview address, a runbook, and a daily deploy workflow.

The cut-over

The owner’s go was short: sign-in done on the deployment tool, draft the bio, and the pull quote. The custom domain and its www twin were attached to the deployment, and both answer with a valid certificate. The deploy itself needed the owner’s explicit permission in the builder’s session, given once.

The profile page launches with a bio the manager drafted. The owner’s LinkedIn and email links are hidden until the owner confirms them.

For the historian

From here, every push to main from the historian’s worktree publishes straight to the live domain rather than a preview. The old repository is now the historian’s to archive.
