Tiny Clipper

The simplest way to cut a moment out of a video: paste a link, set a start and an end, get a clip or a GIF. No login, no AI, no watermark nag.

Tiny Clipper is a planned self-serve web app. You paste a video link, trim a start and an end, and get a horizontal or vertical clip or a GIF, with optional meme-style captions and title cards. Basic use needs no account. Paid tiers would sell hosted links and storage.

It grew out of Clipper Overlord but points the opposite way: a public tool for anyone rather than a channel operator for one person. It plans to reuse Clipper's download, cut, and text-overlay code and its cover-editor ideas, and explicitly drops Clipper's AI clip picking, publishing, and scheduling. One rule is firm: the shipped product uses no AI.

The whole history so far is one evening. By the owner's choice, nothing gets built until the mockups and a functional spec are done.

Milestone

Founded in an evening, with three hard rules

Tiny Clipper was founded between 21:37 and 22:03 with a vision document and three rules: no AI anywhere in the product, no platform names in the brand, and no serverless. Everything else is open.

Decision

The free tier, and what is still open

The free tier caps sources at one hour. Both orientations are supported with a manual 9:16 crop; face tracking is parked. A preparing-your-clip page covers the wait. Posture and pricing are still being decided.

Design

Three design directions, none picked yet

Workbench, Playful, and Quiet: three complete mockups of the clip page, each with its own type, colour, and attitude. All three follow the system light and dark setting. The owner has not chosen.
