Ended campaigns, a restart that works, and the cover safe zone

Progress

Three merges across one evening and the small hours. Starting the app now restarts it if one is already running. Campaigns that have ended on the marketplace are flagged in Health with a switch-off button. And the owner's channel screenshots showed cover text trimmed at the top and bottom, so covers now keep their words inside the part of the picture YouTube actually shows.

Restart

Starting the app while one was already running used to fail. Now the command ends the running copy the way the stop command does and serves in the current console. A foreground app writes its process id to a file so the next start can find it; Ctrl+C ends it quietly. The one catch is one-time: an app started before this change has no id file, so the first new start refuses once.

Ended campaigns

After every successful finder run, the enabled campaigns are matched against the marketplace’s board. A campaign that is no longer active, has no budget left, or has been missing from the board twice in a row gets a Health warning, a line on its card, a Switch off button with a confirm tap and an Undo, and a count in the badge. Review found two ways a live campaign could be called ended by mistake, a board that came back cut short and a link that had never matched anything, and the rework reports those as “unconfirmed” and “unmatched” instead. As it happens the owner’s campaign briefs are all document links, so nothing matches until the marketplace links are entered.

Two housekeeping commits went in alongside: dead keys cleared from the channel configuration, and the Sources page note no longer mentions YouTube links.

The safe zone

The owner sent screenshots of the channel grid, and the cover text was clipped. YouTube shows a 9:16 cover in a roughly 2:3 frame, trimming about seven per cent off the top and the bottom. The fix widens the margins, lifts the bar words above the trim line, and shades the two strips in the editor preview so the operator can see what the grid will hide. Covers already uploaded stay as they are.

The review did not take the fix on trust. It measured rendered pixels and found the default outline style still ran into the bottom strip, because the text block was sized by line height and the test could not see dark ink, and the quote style now sat over a centred face. The rework measures text blocks by their ink and, when a block would cover a face wherever it is placed, steps the type down to the style’s smallest size. Merged at about six in the morning after that one round.

And then

Old evidence screenshots outside the repo were left alone: “just get the new stuff in order.” The owner went to bed just before one with “work until you can’t and shutdown the machine,” and the manager did both, after cleaning up six merged worktrees and their branches.
