Six days of “Permit Notification is a working title” end here.
How it was chosen
The first shortlist had a favourite that was already in use, and the owner’s response was a rule rather than a rejection: research availability before suggesting anything. A naming pass then ran every candidate through the trademark register, domain availability, the state business register, and the social handles. PermitBuzz came out on top and clear on all of them. The owner’s reply was the pull quote.
What changes, and what does not
The name is recorded in the plan and the project’s decision log. The repository keeps its old name for now and the mockups still carry the earlier placeholder. The app reads its brand from a single constant, so the rename is a one-line change routed to the app builder rather than a sweep.
Also overnight
Three more pull requests closed a race in the digest’s watermark, on both sides of the pipeline. On ingest, geocoding now happens outside the batch transaction, a permit’s detected-at time is set when it is inserted, and a write transaction is bounded at ten minutes and fails cleanly past that. On the app side, a digest’s window settles fifteen minutes before the run, and the claim that marks a send as taken returns the window it covers. Without this a permit could land in the gap between two digests and appear in neither. Milestone 1’s first two slices are complete; the staging deployment still waits on the owner’s accounts.
