Six more on the list, and the intros stop fibbing

Progress

The projects page grew from a few finished apps to the whole portfolio: Clipper Overlord, PermitBuzz, Eboda Gymnast, Tiny Clipper, Bopsmith, and this history site joined, each with a short write-up in the site's voice. Two of them are still plans, so every theme's intro, which had promised things built and put online, was rewritten to cover built, half-built, and only drawn. A placeholder link now renders as a dead end instead of a button back to the same page.

The live projects page in the Plain look after the merge: eight entries, featured first, each intro saying built, half-built, or only drawn so far.

Kongomax lists the owner’s self-hosted web apps, each theme in its own decade’s voice. Until 10 October the list was short and everything on it was live.

The additions

Six entries, under the review-before-merge rule the site has kept from the start. Clipper Overlord, PermitBuzz, Eboda Gymnast, Tiny Clipper, Bopsmith, and the Project Chronicles, which had been listed under the home page’s domain and was renamed to what it is. The Cookbook’s write-up, which had read “more about it soon” since the first week, was replaced with what the app actually does. Links are placeholders for now; two of them wait on an answer from the owner about what to point at.

Honest intros

The site’s standing rule, set on 1 October, is that pastiche is allowed and lying is not. Each theme’s project-list intro said some version of “everything the owner has built and put online.” Tiny Clipper and Bopsmith are plans, and Eboda Gymnast has no public download. So five intros were rewritten to say built, half-built, or only drawn so far, each in its own theme’s voice.

Dead ends

The review caught one more: five live entries still on a placeholder link rendered “run” and “visit” controls that linked back to the page you were on. The dead-end check now keys on the link alone, so a placeholder renders as a dead end whether the project is discontinued or merely not yet pointed anywhere. The one discontinued entry renders exactly as before.
